CPS Sketch # 177 - Flower Soft

Hello!  I thought I'd share my CPS sketch project for the week.  This week's sponsor was Flower Soft.

Grows with Love

I had a blast coloring this little girl image.  It's a stamp that Flower Soft sells... and is designed perfect for use with their Flower Soft product.

I colored this sweet girl with Copic markers.  To give the grassy area texture, I added Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft.  Such a wonderful product!

Gina K Technique Challenge

I was inspired by sweet Ms. Gina's recent blog post to find a technique on StampTV and create a project.  I had a few minutes today and thought I'd give it a shot... just before time runs out to submit!

I Love You
My first card uses the emboss resist technique.  The lace stamp is just gorgeous, isn't it?  I've had this stamp set for awhile and not used it yet... shame on me.  The soft colors of the Gossamer patterned paper were my guide for the main image.

I stamped the lace in Versamark and embossed in clear.  I sponged pink and lavender ink over the embossed areas to bring out the detail of the lace.  Such a wonderful technique!

And because I had a bit of extra time on my hands, I made another while I was at it...

My second card had a bit more detail involved.  I paper pieced the quilt... every bit of it.  I thought I'd be cross-eyed before I was finished.  But, patience pays off and I really love the eclectic mix of colors for my patchwork quilt.  While the June Bug Basic Grey paper has been out for a while, it's just perfect for a homespun quilt.

I didn't completely adhere the whole quilt in place.  The ends are tipped up a bit and curled to mirror a real quilt.

CPS Sketch 176 - Sponsor Free

Hello!  I'm back with another CPS project.  This week's prize sponsor is Kitchen Sink Stamps - but I'm flying solo.  I created a super quick card... and well, keeping it simple made me happy.

Seriously, this couldn't have been quicker.  I think it took longer to glue everything in place than any other step.  And I promise to put down the Thrift Shop paper soon... I admit, I'm addicted to October Afternoon papers.  I just can't get enough.

Be sure to stop by the CPS blog for more inspiration and to learn more about how to join in the fun.

Blast from the Past Blog Hop

I am really excited to be joining the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop this month.  I've seen the posts in the past and have wanted to join... well, this time I did.

Thank You

I love the CreativiTEA stamp set.  It's elegant images are just my thing.  I paired the stamped images with the Gossamer MemoryBox paper... a perfect match!

I stamped the flower image and popped it up as the embellishment for my central image.  The final touch is the pearl flourish... a touch of elegance!

Keep hopping along the path for more inspiration...

CPS Sketch # 175 - Lizzie Anne Designs

Hello!  I'm back from vacation with a fresh CPS Sketch project.  This week's sponsor is Lizzie Anne Designs.  I fell in love with this little Sixlet set and had a ball with the sketch this week.  Pure fun!

Whale of a Birthday

I stumbled upon my Joy Ride Cosmo Cricket paper (by dumb luck, I tell ya) when it fell on my work desk.  It was kismet!  The grid paper and little dots paper match my sweet what and the bubble trail perfectly!  Match made in paper craft land!  I hand cut a bit of ocean for my little whale and this fun project was complete.

I hope you'll stop by the CPS blog for more designer inspiration and details on how to join in the fun.

CPS Sketch # 174 - Gina K Designs

Hello!  I'm so glad I can pre-post with blogger.  We're on vacation this week and I am a million miles away from computers.  Ah...

OK.  I'm back.  I have a CPS Sketch project to share with you again.  This week's sponsor is Gina K Designs.

I just love this set.  I paired the silhouette flowers together and stamped in Versamark ink, embossing with clear embossing powder.  To really make these bloom, I used various Memento inks and softly sponged on color.  I really love how bold the background looks... orange is one of my favorite colors!

Be sure to stop by the CPS blog for more designer inspiration and the details on this week's sketch.

We Remember - 4th of July

Happy Independence Day!!!  I thought I'd share a card I recently made that helps celebrate the day - in a very special way for me.

The Brave

I'm really so proud of the images of the We Remember set.  It's a set I designed and it honors my family's experience serving our country.  In fact, the handsome gentleman on the left is my grandpa.  Here's a shot of him last year in May.  Isn't he darling?  Seeing him smile just makes me smile (and if you couldn't tell, I love him a ton).

Well, I stamped the photo image and colored with Copic markers.  Then, to give it an aged effect, I did the cracked glass technique.  I really like how it looks over a detailed image.  I had a little reflection from the cracked surface, so this isn't the best photo, but gives you an idea of the effect.
