CardMaker and American Crafts Blog Hop

Hello everyone!

 I'm incredibly excited to be posting a project today with the CardMaker blog team, featuring projects using the Amy Tangerine Better Togethercollection from American Crafts.

 You should have arrived from the CardMaker blog.  The full hop list is below so you can view all the great projects today.  We'd love it if you joined along!
I have a ton of pictures... are you ready for this?

This paper was just amazing!  I love pretty papers and it seems like ages since I've delved into a paper collection.  And wow, what a joy!

My project is a small stationary set with a matching box to house the cards.  It's a simple box, but I'd like to step this out a bit so you can recreate it.

First, here's the box template with score line measurements and what sections to cut:


Score, cut and fold along the dotted lines as pictured above.  Round the corners of the flap closure and the base of the box for a professional look.

The result is a simple box that will hold either 3 cards + envelopes or 6 completed cards.  If your stationary set has bulky embellishments, you'll find that fewer fit.


This is a picture of my card box.  Because I just LOVED the paper, I opted to keep the box simple in white cardstock and added the patterned paper to the flap.  To keep the flap in place, I used a magnet.  And I just LOVE that floral pattern.

I created a total of 6 cards with all the same base layout.

Here's the first three... All with that amazing Knot + Bow paper floral paper!



The next set, also with the same layout, featured the Push + Pull pattern.  



This little set will make a great impromptu gift for a friend.  It will give them a smile and when they use the cards, they are passing it on to others!

Faber-Castell and CardMaker Magazine Blog Hop

Hello!  Thank you for joining us today for a fun blog hop.

 I am so excited to be creating along with my CardMaker team members using amazing Faber-Castell products.  My first project was inspired by the Faber-Castell Paper Flower Kit.  The kit comes with precut flowers, adhesives and four Gelatos to enhance your finished project... everything you'll need to get started!

 You should have arrived here from Linda Beeson's blog.  I have the entire blog hop list below, but the fun starts on the CardMaker Blog.

I created my dimensional flower from multiple pieces from the kit.  The base layer was a white precut flower that was painted with a wash of the Metallic Melon Gelato.  When that was dry, I added some lines of clear Texture Gems (a liquid that dries clear).  Layered over this is a precut velum flower with Texture Gem dots to look like water droplets.  The center was created from two smaller flowers from the kit that were painted with Lemon Gelato and completed with a few dots of Texture Gems.

 The kit comes with circle foam adhesive dots to layer the flowers together or adhere to the final project.  I kept my card simple to highlight the pretty flower!

 The kit comes with detailed instructions to create a few different designs to give you ideas on how to start.  I took my inspiration from the flower from page 8.

 Since I had my Gelatos out on my desk, I thought I'd create a quick and simple card.

I stamped the wreath and flower images with dye ink.  Using a Q-Tip, I colored in the images with various colors of Gelatos for a soft halo effect.  I didn't worry about staying in the lines!  This is a loose method!  To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in the center and added a small die-cut bow to the wreath, colored with the Melon Gelato to match.

Happy New Year

So, is it too late to celebrate the new year?  Nah... we're good.

To be honest, I found this in my drafts folder!  What the heck?!  You mean I have to hit the Publish button when I'm finished writing up a post?  Haha!

I was inspired by Julie Ebersole's card HERE and created a simple New Year's card with similar elements.


I started with a piece of cardstock that is a blush pink / peach color.  It was from a multi-pack that I received from a company that is no longer in business (my apologies, since I don't recall what it's name really is).

Overall, this was a super simple card, but the elements of gold are just amazing!  I adore the Delicata gold ink!


The images do not do any justice to the shimmer.  I embossed the champagne glasses in gold, colored with my R20 Copic marker, added clear Wink of Stella and fussy cut.  I covered with Glossy Accents and allowed to dry.  In most cases, I take the time to remove all the bubbles when I add Glossy Accents... this time, I let them stay.  They add to the champagne effect!
