Winter Luminaria

Hello!  I have another project to share with you that was designed for DiscountCardstock.com

Winter Luminaria

I felt inspired to create a luminaria when I saw the lovely richness of the Posh Hemlock Felt cardstock.

I started with an 8.5" x 10.5" sheet of Posh Hemlock Felt cardstock.  I kept this very simple by cutting a stand of pine trees with my Cricut approximately 2.5" from the bottom of the cardstock.

Before I scored or adhered the sides / bottom of the box, I added a panel of Clear Translucent Vellum to the inside of the box.  Then, I carefully scored the cardstock along the "long side" at 2", 5", 7" and 10".  I flipped the cardstock and scored at 2" to create the bottom.

Add a battery operated flickering "candle" to make this a stunning addition to your home decor all winter!

Thanks for visiting,
Lisa

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.
It's release day and we have a hop to celebrate!

Good Luck!

Doesn't this guy look like a major league ball player?  I just love his stance!  I stamped and colored with Copic markers, keeping the design fairly simple.  A Nestabilities circle die was transformed into a baseball.
Thanks for hopping with us today. Have fun with the rest of the hop!

Outlines Rubber Stamps Challenge - Hang It Up!

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create an ornament.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Poinsettia Ornament

Oh my word!  This was a fun challenge!  I made this ornament in one afternoon and had a lot of fun doing it.

For the ornament itself, this started as a clear, plain glass ornament.  I painted the outside of the ornament with red paint.  Once it was dry, I coated the entire outside of the painted oranment with liquid glue.  I used Mod Podge.  I coated (and wore) with glass microbeads.  I set the ornament aside to dry.

To create the topper, I stamped the Poinsettia Topper Sm. (H-644) once on red cardstock and the Poinsettia Topper Lg (J-643) twice - once on red cardstock and once on green cardstock.  I added some highlights to the flower and leaf petals with Copic markers and then coated with Mod Podge.  I sprinkled liberally with the glass microbeads and allowed to dry.  I should note here that I didn't cut out my flowers / leaves until I had coated with the microbeads and allowed to dry.  That ensured that the beads coated the entire image.  I trimmed from the cardstock and layered on my ornament.

Here's a view from the top of my ornament:

This will be a beauty on my tree this year!!!  Look at all that shimmer!

I opted to create my own baseball patterned paper and colored in Chicago Cubs blue!

Just For Kicks

Soccer Boy is a fun set!  I stamped the Soccer Boy image and colored with Copic markers.  I opted for green because my son's favorite European soccer jersey is black and green.  It's a bold combination!  The soccer ball is also popped up on the image for added dimension.

Outlines Rubber Stamps Challenge - Gift Card Holder

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a gift card holder.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Jolly

I used to worry about giving a gift card to someone.  I'd feel guilty because it wasn't a gift, something they could open.  It's silly, really, because I LOVE gift cards.  I get to shop guilt-free when I get one and love that I get to pick!!!  So, to make myself feel better about giving them, I create pretty and innovative gift card holders to make the recipient feel loved.

I stamped the Season (D-315) image with Strawberry ink and die cut with a circle Nestability die.  I colored the stars with a copic marker and added Holo Iridescent Glitter Liner.  To hold my gift card, I made a small "library" card style pocket and cut a small notch in the front.  It's integrated into the design of the card... sneaky, right?

Here's a view of the gift card pulled out:

So with all the business out of the way, here's my project...

Christmas Poinsettia

I printed the poinsettia image twice.  I colored the flower separately and layered onto the main panel for extra dimension.  Here's a view of the image from the side:

I also added lots of little details to the colored image.  I added some silver paint pen to the bells, gold paint pen to the center of the flower and glitter on the pine boughs (like ice).

I hope you'll continue on the hop to the rest of the designers contributing today!  I'm certain you'll be inspired!

Jean Franks Beck is next on the hop, but if you've landed on my blog directly and would like to see the full list of contributors, it's below.

For You

Creating this card was so simple.  I printed the digi-stamp and cut out with a circle Spellbinder die.  Then, I cut a square of Eclipse tape that was larger than my owl circle.  I punched a smaller circle in the center.  Using the 1-3/8" circle punch, I placed over my owl and airbrushed the night sky.  Then, while the 1-3/8" circle was in place, I applied the larger square (reverse mask) in alignment and then removed the smaller circle.  I was able to airbrush the moon without getting any yellow into the sky.

The finishing touch for the card was applying the white rub-on sentiment from EAD Designs.

This week our challenge was to create a card with Thanksgiving in mind.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Turkey Day

I think it goes without saying... I have no idea where this year has gone.  The fact that we're creating for the holidays is just crazy to me.  But, with fun images like this Turkey Sq. Lg (E-831) image by Outlines, it makes it SO easy to prep for the holidays.

I stamped the Turkey Sq. Lg. image with Walnut Stain Distress ink and embossed with clear powder.  I colored with Copic markers and then layered on Dutch Mustard Soup paper by Jillibean Soup.  Very simple and easily reproduced if you want to send invites for your Turkey Day festivities!

Outlines Rubber Stamps Challenge - Inspiration Picture

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a card inspired from this picture:
Isn't this such a happy image?!?  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Sunny Day

So, what do you think?  Is it a good match to our inspiration?  I thought it worked!  I stamped the Sketchy Circle (H-1058) image multiple times with Banana ink.  Then, I die cut a circle to fit my card.  Using a few of the Sketchy Circle images, I cut wedges so I could get varying wedge shapes for my sunny rays!  After adding some die cut clouds and the game spinner, I think it matches pretty well.

I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  And don't forget you can join in our fun!
