CHF Grand Re-Opening Blog Hop

Hello!!!  Welcome to the CHF Grand Re-Opening celebration!  It's great to be reunited with my former design team members and joined by new ones!

Cornish Heritage Farms is back with a new owner and a new site.  You can find CHF on Facebook HERE which has a sneak peek album of projects by the designers.

We will be randomly giving 8 certificates to commenters on our hop.  Here's how to enter:

Visit each of the blog hop sites, which are listed below.  Leave a comment on each site before you hop to the next site.  Each DT member will randomly draw a name from the comments.  Comments close 24 hours after the hop.  You have 8 different chances of winning!

Great information about Cornish Heritage Farms that you should know was shared by Tanya in the last CHF newsletter:

A HUGE Inventory! - You will find over 500 images on the new Cornish Heritage Farms website! We have hundreds of Christmas and holiday images, as well as animals, family, by the seashore and so many more!

Reward Points - Every dollar you spend gets you a reward point. Collect 200 points and you get $10 to spend on the website!

Great Images - Great Prices! NOTHING on our site is over $2.99 including the amazing Mushroom Lane stamps! Most images are just $1.99!

A .99 Cent Bin! ? Over 125 images are just .99 each.

And coming soon...... We are going to have video tutorials on how to download and use your digital images. We will have a brand new rubber section where you can purchase some of your old favorites like Thomas Kinkade, The Rummage Bin and all the wonderful backgrounders. AND - tutorials.

So with all the business out of the way, here's my project...

Christmas Poinsettia

I printed the poinsettia image twice.  I colored the flower separately and layered onto the main panel for extra dimension.  Here's a view of the image from the side:

I also added lots of little details to the colored image.  I added some silver paint pen to the bells, gold paint pen to the center of the flower and glitter on the pine boughs (like ice).

I hope you'll continue on the hop to the rest of the designers contributing today!  I'm certain you'll be inspired!

Jean Franks Beck is next on the hop, but if you've landed on my blog directly and would like to see the full list of contributors, it's below.

Swimming for Katie Renz - Blog Hop + Fundraiser

Hello!  I'm so excited to be a part of today's designer hop for Katie.

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family. Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support. In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale. Direct donations are also being accepted. Information central is HERE. This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

I created a simple card with the darling octopus.  I love the idea of a pink octopus!  It's hard to see in the picture, but I used metallic paper and Smooch paints to give this princess lots of shine.

I hope you will join me in supporting Katie through a purchase or donation. The following is a list of everyone who has projects posted today. I hope you will be inspired by them and moved to purchase or donate.

PSA Essentials Luck of the Irish Blog Hop

Hello and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I'm so excited to be participating in the PSA Essentials Luck of the Irish Blog Hop!!!
Do you have big plans for today?  Nothing big on my agenda... except for this amazing blog hop!  I'm only Irish on St. Patty's Day!   ;-)

You should be coming here from Linda's blog.  The entire list of designers in the hop are listed below if you hopped off-course!

All you have to do is hop to each of the blogs participating, comment at each, and are (or become) a follower of PSA Stamp Camp... and you will be entered to win the “Luck of the Irish” prize. This prize contains: 1 custom stamp, 2 ink colors, 1 alignment tool and these Peel & Stick packs (just in time for Spring!).  Seriously... I'd LOVE this prize!

So, with those details out of the way, are you ready for my project?

I had a little fun with two of Paper Smooches latest free digi-stamps.  I printed Kim's darling clover several times and colored in a spectrum of Copic marker colors.  When I had all the clovers colored, I covered with glue and liberally sprinkled with fine glitter.  I allowed to dry before I carefully trimmed each with precision scissors.  These clovers positively SHINE!

To get the cloud shape, I traced the cloud die about a 0.5" larger than the die onto the back of the printed sentiment.  Once I had the sentiment cut out, I erased the pencil lines on the back, covered with glue and sprinkled with more glitter.

To add a bit more to the "sky" background, I put the cloud dies on my work table, layered the Core'dinations cardstock on top and gently sanded to get the white core cloud to come through on the cardstock.  It's subtle, but a really fun detail!

As an added bonus, I created a little treat holder too.  I die cut a Labels 8 Nestability die and scored to hold a couple candies.  I added a banner of gold (painted because I didn't have gold paper) and another glittered shamrock to embellish.  Simple and cute!  And a perfect vehicle to hold my rainbow of fruit flavors (mini Skittles).

Be sure to visit and comment along the way to have a chance to win that awesome PSA Essentials prize pack!  I know I'd love to win it!  I said that already, haven't I?  Shhh... we won't tell...

The next stop on the hop is Mara Campbell.

In case you landed here out of order and would like to participate, here's the list of all the designers:

It's all about the Shimmerz Blog Hop!

Today, the Cornish Heritage Farm design team is sharing projects that are all about the shimmer!  Even more specific, Shimmerz!  These little pots of paint are so dazzling.  The Shimmerz and CHF teams swapped products and oh, what a lovely combination...

Shimmery Poppy Pair:

This project was so easy to paint.  I first embossed the image with black detail embossing powder.  This helped me keep the paint where I wanted it.  Then, over time, I built up multiple layers of the paint to give a vibrant darker color.  The image was solely colored with Shimmerz paints.

I do have to apologize for the way the picture looks a bit wonky (very technical term here).  I think it's because I was getting a bit of reflection from all that shine from the paints that it looks that way. And... it's just dazzling in real life!

Since we thought it would be fun to blog hop, be sure to stop by and visit Joanne next...

Sweet Spring Blog Hop

The trees are in bloom, the birds are singing and the tulips are peeking out of the garden... it's SPRING!  YEAH!!  I'm so glad Winter has made way to warmer temperatures!

The Cornish Heritage Farm team has decided to celebrate the season with a little blog hop.  Be sure to stop by the CHF team's blogs for more inspiration and fun.

So, here are my cards for the "Ode to Spring"!
Spring into Style:

I couldn't stop at just one card.  I created a quick set of cards, all simply made with the same style and colors.  All are made with White Prismatic cardstock that has been embossed with the Labels Four Nestabilities dies.  And I used the Sweet Spring stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms for all of them.  I don't think it could be any simpler.  Here are each of the cards up close:
