Watercoloring Technique

Good evening!  I thought I'd post a quick note that I've posted a new technique today at Cornish Heritage Farms.  The project was super fast and I had a chance to channel my inner artist!

Sunset:

You can see the step by step details on how to recreate the central image at the CHF Technique forums ---> HERE.  Even if I forget to post about the tech, you can see the weekly article posted in the forums.  Stop by sometime.  I'd love to see you!

CPS Sketch # 151 - Prism Papers

Hello!  I have another sketch project to share with you today.  The CPS sponsor of the week is Prism Papers.  The texture of these papers are truly wonderful, almost an "orange peel" / watercolor paper feel to them.

Appreciate Beauty:

While the quality of the Prism papers is understated in this design, it's truly the foundation.  It's always been a favorite and "go-to" cardstock for me.  I'm not sure I can make a card without Prism Kraft cardstock.  Hah!

Be sure to check out the other designer samples at Card Positioning Systems this week.  We'd love to see your take on the sketch too - for a chance to win a great prize.
Thanks for visiting!

Gone Hiking Release at CHF

No... I haven't taken a hike, but maybe I should.  I need to get my rear in gear!  Hah!

The latest release at CHF in the Sara England line is really beautiful.  The images have a rough sketch quality to them and I knew exactly what I would create with my first project.

Missing You:

I loved the sketchy lines so much that I really didn't want to alter it too much. I used a regular #2 pencil to give a few additional bits of shading. I also punched the side to look like the image was pulled from a sketch book... something done quickly / on the fly...

And there's something so touching about this man looking out over the hills to the setting sun that makes me wonder if he's missing someone (or if someone is missing him).

Thanks for visiting!

Purrfect Friends

The latest release to the Classic Collection at Cornish Heritage Farms is called Purrfect Friends.  It has a couple of darling vintage images that I just loved.

Hello Friend:

Doesn't this image have you wondering if this cat is up to devious things or not?  I'm going to vote for friendly.  Hah!  It truly reminds me of the illustrations from some of my childhood books.
I hope you're week is going well.  Thanks for stopping by!

CPS Sketch # 148 - Gina K Designs

Oh yeah!!!  Today I'm posting my first design with CPS and I couldn't be more thrilled!  Gina K Designs sponsored us this week and I really had a ton of fun.

Sketch # 148

Cool Beans

"Cool Beans" is one of my mom's favorite sayings.  I had to incorporate it into the card for sure.  And the corrugated kraft cardstock really reminded me of those wraps you get on a yummy sugar-free vanilla soy latte at Starbucks.  I'm craving one now!

Be sure to stop by Card Positioning Systems to check out the other great designs of the week... and join in the fun.  Link to your projects with the same sketch we use and you can win.

Thanks for stopping by,

Happy New Years!!!

Yep... It's not a good sign that I'm just logging in and chatting with you today.  It's the forth of January, for goodness sake!  But I have been stamping and have a TON of projects to share with you over the next few weeks.

As a sidenote, I did finish all the Tim Holtz holiday tags and will take a full picture to share all of them with you.  Of course, I didn't get my act together soon enough to participate in Tim's giveaway, but I couldn't be more pleased with the results... and that I stamped for the fun of it.

Shifting gears from the holidays, I thought I'd share a project using a stamp set that is all set to release at Cornish Heritage Farms tomorrow.  This fun, called Bear Essentials, is darling and part of a new collection of images by Tom Allen (the same artist responsible for the Friendly Kritters).

Color Blocked Hugs:

Isn't this darling little bear sweet?  I thought a quick card of color blocks would make a perfect Valentine?  And seriously, can you believe I'm ahead of the game?  No, I can't either!

Thanks for stopping by,
lise

p.s. I have a post for tomorrow with my first CPS card.  Gina K Designs is the sponsor and I can't wait to share!
