Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC186

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC186.  This challenge is to create a card to Ring in the New Year.

New Year's Cocktails

OK... you'll need to be VERY imaginative for this card.  Picture, if you will, a frosty and decidedly adult beverage in a fancy glass.  Now... pretend that's what this is... a delicious adult beverage.  Did my imagery work?!?!?  I'll tell you, my family just didn't see it at all.

I stamped the tree from the O Christmas Tree stamp set, upside-down.  I added a snowflake to the bottom (er, top) of the tree (I mean, glass) to give it a base.  It's plausible, right?

I covered my lacey glass with a coating of Glossy Accents after coloring in a bit of lemony liquid.  A snowflake (or rather, a lemon slice) adds appeal (sorry... bad joke) to the top of my glass.

So, what do you think?

Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties Blog for more inspiration and details on how to participate.  I think prizes are a part of the deal too!

Thanks for visiting!

Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC185

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC185.  This challenge is to create a project with Snow as the theme!

Let It Snow

This couple is darling, aren't they?  I stamped the Snow Snuggles couple and colored with copic markers.  I gave the sky a few blasts with my airbrush to add in a bit of color.  When I was satisfied with the coloring, I held my clear Atyou Spica pen in the airbrush and added sparkle over the entire image.  It's so shimmery in real life.

Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties Blog for more inspiration and details on how to participate.  I think prizes are a part of the deal too!

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC184.  This challenge is to create a card with white + 1 additional color.

Ahoy!

This was a blast to create!  I stamped the ship from the Ahoy Matey set, colored with copic markers and carefully trimmed.  It's bobbing in a sea of cardstock, with the ripples of waves made from a rick rack die.  Fun, right?

Here's a view from the side... lots of dimension!

Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC183

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC183.  This challenge is a sketch challenge.  Here's the sketch we used:

Brew Your Coffee

Have I mentioned how much I love sketches?  I do!  They are the perfect way to start a project.  With sketch in hand, I pick my main image and hunt down the perfect patterned paper.  I had fun coloring the Brew Your Coffee image in bright colors.  It's just darling in reds, yellow and green!  And I followed the sketch to a T.
Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties Blog for more inspiration and details on how to participate.  I think prizes are a part of the deal too!

Paper Pretties December Release Blog Hop

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.
It's release day and we have a hop to celebrate!

Good Luck!

Doesn't this guy look like a major league ball player?  I just love his stance!  I stamped and colored with Copic markers, keeping the design fairly simple.  A Nestabilities circle die was transformed into a baseball.
Thanks for hopping with us today. Have fun with the rest of the hop!

Cubby

Doesn't he look like he's a Chicago Cubs player?  Well, we'll say he is!  My husband is a Cubs fan, so the colors were a big hit!

I opted to create my own baseball patterned paper and colored in Chicago Cubs blue!

It's time to preview the new Paper Pretties December releases.

Just For Kicks

Soccer Boy is a fun set!  I stamped the Soccer Boy image and colored with Copic markers.  I opted for green because my son's favorite European soccer jersey is black and green.  It's a bold combination!  The soccer ball is also popped up on the image for added dimension.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC181.  This challenge is all about creating holiday tags!

Christmas Cheer

I love creating tags.  The smaller dimensions make tags quick and fun.

I stamped the Season of Joy set and colored with Copic markers.  I carefully trimmed the birdhousee and layered on my tag.  I also added loads of dimension pearl pens and glitter.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC180.  This challenge is all about creating a holiday card with non-traditional colors!

Holiday Cheer

Pink and teal just scream Christmas cards, don't they?  No?  Well, awesome!  Since it's a non-traditional challenge this week.  I stamped the Season of Joy set and colored with Copic markers.  It's simple and... pink.

Wonderful

I stamped the butterfly on the main image and lightly colored with copics.  I stamped the butterfly again on a separate piece of cardstock and colored with detail.  I carefully trimmed and popped over the original image.

Here's a side view of the image.

I love adding dimension to projects!

Paper Pretties Sketch Challenge - PWC178

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

This first post is to entice you to join in the Paper Pretties Challenge PWC178.  This challenge is a sketch.

Merry Christmas

I love designing with sketches!  It's one of my favorite ways to start a project.  I followed the sketch fairly close, as you can see, but they are so perfect to interpret to fit your image, your design.

I stamped the solid tree from O Christmas Tree Clear set with Artichoke ink on Natural White cardstock.  The star on top was carefully trimmed and popped up for added dimension.

CPS Sketch # 192 - Paper Pretties

Hello!  It's time for another CPS Sketch project.  This week's sponsor is Paper Pretties!  Their website it chock full of fantastic and fun images, great crafting supplies and their service is SUPER fast.  I know I'll be ordering again.

Season of Joy

The images from the Season of Joy set reminded me of the Charlie Brown Christmas special I used to watch every year.  It's that time of year again too!  I can't wait to watch it again this year with my children.  The bright primary colors just seemed to be the perfect color palette for my "cartoon" inspiration!

I stamped the little birdhouse (maybe Woodstock's house?  hah) and colored with Copic markers.  I airbrushed the sky and added a bit of Liquid Pearls to be the snow.  The strand of lights made a fun frame.  I frosted the edges of my card and around the central panel with a little white pigment ink... almost like peering out a frosty-cold window to a snowy landscape.  My next door neighbors always put Christmas lights in their windows, so it seemed like a perfect combination!

Be sure to stop by the CPS blog for more designer inspiration and information on how to participate in the sketch this week.  You could win the Paper Pretties prize pack!

Thanks for visiting,
