CHA Sample # 2

Here's another sample that I created for CHA.

Sticking with the fashion theme and the color combination for the team, I made this quick tag. The Summer Fun set was any easy pick! That bikini and the swim trunks scream fashion!!!

I do know that it was used... since I spied it on the Kim Hughes Collection display table. I couldn't have been more proud!

I love rounded / dome shaped tags. I think they look so finished. I used my trusty Coluzzle to give the half-oval shape. I kept the round element through the project with more ovals, circles and soft edges. All the images are watercolored from the Adirondack inks - a perfect match.

Thanks for stopping by,

Lisa

CHA Sample #1

I'm finally home, but dragging. The jet-lag going West is always harder on me than going over. I've done a little stamping since I've been home (I'm woefully behind in projects and obligations), but haven't had a chance to photo things. I'll have some new things soon.

I do have a few projects to share that I'd sent off to CHA (the Craft and Hobby Association) with Cornish Heritage Farms. We all used the same color scheme - Prism cardstock:

I borrowed the picture from Tami (also on the CHF team).

The theme for CHA was fashion. Looking at all the lovely Kim Hughes Collection stamps, I knew I'd need to be creative.

Cute Curls Dress:

I used the Cute Curls stamp set to make a dress - the heart for the bodice and the curled tree (upside down) as the flouncy skirt. I thought of this in the middle of the night. I literally sat up in bed, dashed to my stamping space and found the images to test the idea. I love how it turned out...

I used a bit of jewelry wire to make a hanger. Using my bone folder, I wrapped the wire around and trimmed at neck. It was the perfect size for the dress to hang onto it.

To tie into the fashion theme, I used the Faux Silk technique for the background. It's a simple process that yields a very sophisticated look. I stamped the Scratched Grid background (inked in Peeled Paint Distress ink) onto the smooth side of the tissue paper. I crumpled the tissue, gently opened, and set aside. I applied glue (regular glue sticks work best here) to the background panel and carefully positioned the tissue onto it. After it was burnished to the panel, I trimmed the excess and inked the edges. Using the smooth side of the tissue (and most tissues have two distinct sides) gives the background the look of raw silk. Perfect!
I'm not sure if it was used in the CHF booth... but I enjoyed making a fashion statement with an otherwise non-clothing inspired set.

Thanks for looking,
Lisa
