Birthday Wishes
This was so much fun to do! To get the lace edging on my main panel (the light blue rectangle only - the other is a bit of lace), I did the following:
- I determined my finished panel size and made my rectangle a bit smaller to accomodate my lace edging.
- I stamped the design on my rectangle with white chalk ink and allowed to dry.
- Next, I pre-pierced my cardstock near the edge with about 1/4 inch between hole.
- Using thin crochet thread (and following a simple pattern in the Crochet Edging Handbook), I crocheted on my cardstock.
- I carefully knotted the thread at the end and weaved in my ends. Simple!
My main panel is removable from the front of my card "pocket"...
I think it adds a beautiful touch and was really quick to add to my project. I can certainly see myself doing this again in the future!
Thanks for visiting,
Lisa
