CPS Sketch # 260 - Sharp Crochet Hook

Hello!  It's time for another CPS Sketch project.  This week's sponsor is Sharp Crochet Hook.

Birthday Wishes

This was so much fun to do!  To get the lace edging on my main panel (the light blue rectangle only - the other is a bit of lace), I did the following:

  1. I determined my finished panel size and made my rectangle a bit smaller to accomodate my lace edging.
  2. I stamped the design on my rectangle with white chalk ink and allowed to dry.
  3. Next, I pre-pierced my cardstock near the edge with about 1/4 inch between hole.
  4. Using thin crochet thread (and following a simple pattern in the Crochet Edging Handbook), I crocheted on my cardstock.
  5. I carefully knotted the thread at the end and weaved in my ends.  Simple!

My main panel is removable from the front of my card "pocket"...

I think it adds a beautiful touch and was really quick to add to my project.  I can certainly see myself doing this again in the future!

Thanks for visiting,
Lisa
