Hello! It's time for another project for CPS. It's still about My Favorite Things!
Together
I am planning to give this card to my husband for our anniversary. I love the sentiment and the people border is just fun! It's actually a border of only ladies in dresses, but I carefully trimmed every other person to remove the dress. Talk about versatile!

It Doesn't Get Much Better
I think this Thomas Kinkade stamp is one of my all-time favorites. There's something lovely about the water, the filtered light through the trees and the flowers. Of course, it looks daunting to color, but it's actually easy. All the dark portions of the stamped image are the dark shadows, so you start with the lightest colors first and layer in the dark over the dark ink spots. I find it easiest to dot in flower colors and highlight with white gel pens.
Of course, the fun bit of this card is the twine and the fishing fly. I shopped the sporting goods area for a real lure. To make it safe for a card, I used a wire cutter to remove the hook.
I'd love it if you stopped by to see what the other designers are posting today:

Hello! It's time for another CPS sketch project! I've been inking MFT images and having a great time.

This was such a quick card that it might just make the grade for mass-production later this year when I work to make over 90 cards to send to friends and family.
I colored my frosty bonne homme de neige with copic markers in non-traditional colors.

Patriot's Day Project
It goes without saying... as a nation, we have been changed forever by what happened on September 11th. I'm sure others remember where they were on 9/11...
Now, it's a day to reflect on the events of the day, remember those that lost their lives that day and thank those that protect us still.
Let Freedom Ring
This was a fun project to create. It will be featured on the DiscountCardstock.com website / blog and I'd love if you stopped by to check out more details there.
Thanks!
Lisa
Other: Unfinished frame from Michaels, black acrylic paint, White satin paint, sanding block, Grungeboard / chipboard star, Mister Huey’s Calico White spray by Studio Calico, Grain Striping tool by Martha Stewart, dimensional tape, foam brush

This card used a Spellbinder die to create an elegant base. I love that it will still fit in a standard envelope, should I want to send it to someone.

Tim Holtz Tag for September
I was incredibly lucky to find a few minutes to rub together on Sunday to make this tag. The design and style really spoke to me and I had to try it myself. I honestly think I was meant to make this tag anyway, because I had just bought the foil tape on Saturday. Kismet, I tell ya!
Happy Birthday - TH September Tag!
So, here are a few details about my creation. I really didn't have much of what Tim used on his project, which is totally fine. And don't tell... *shhhhhh*... the foil tape was bought at the hardware store. I purchased a roll of aluminum foil duct sealing tape for about $8 at Home Depot. The bonus to this option is certainly the amount you'll have on hand for multiple projects (great value). It has a paper backing that will also be perfect for die-cutting. The downside is the width of the foil tape. You won't be able to cut or cover larger items without a seam. Did that stop me from buying it? No way! I love a good deal.
I also didn't have the darker alcohol inks. If I had been thinking logically, I would have grabbed some of my Copic Various refills in browns and gave that a go, instead of the Stream / Eggplant version here. But, lesson learned and I'll try that the next time for a different tone of metal patina.
Overall, I loved the project. It adorned my Dad's birthday gift perfectly. And it was simple enough to make again, so it's a cool little technique I plan to tuck away for the future.

Other: Washers, brads, gears, paper clip, tiny attacher and pin by Tim Holtz, texture hammer, clear embossing powder by Ranger, twine, twill tape by May Arts, Foil tape by Nashua (Home Depot purchase), Stream and Eggplant alcohol inks by Ranger, sanding block, retractable pen, piercing tool, felt applicator and handle by Ranger, Sookwang and dimensional tape.

CPS Sketch # 281 - My Favorite Things
Hello! It's time for another CPS Sketch project. This month is sponsored by My Favorite Things. I LOVE MFT! I'm a frequent shopper. The unique images, the ever-sweet Pure Innocence stamps and dies make it a fan favorite.
Strong
The sentiment is the main star of this project. I just fell in love with the Vertical Greetings stamp set, because of the wise words. I stamped my favorite from the set and embossed. Layered with some pretty papers and rolled roses, this card is complete!
