Scor-pal and DCWV Project

Hello!  Today I have a project highlighting the lovely papers by DCWV.

I've created a bag and a card combination to celebrate fall, using Scor-pal products that make it so simple to make the stunning!

Fall Leaves

To create the bag, I started a sturdy kraft cardstock.  Score at the following marks, using your Scor-pal scoring board:

The small corner in the template above that is shaded should be removed with precision scissors.  Cut along the 1.5" scores to create the bottom of the bag.  Fold along the scored lines.  I also used Scor-Tape to ensure my bag stays together.  Add Scor-Tape to the small fold (1") edge and adhere to the opposite side to close the bag.  I just can't say enough about Scor-Tape... there's just nothing better!  Your project will not fall apart.

Using a the lovely textured cardstock from the Autumn Melody cardstock stack, I die cut leaves into the brown cardstock.  I also used a pretty patterned paper from the Autumn Melody Stack behind the die cut cardstock to give the leaves some dimension and interest.

The die cut panel was adhered to the bag with dimensional tap, after I tied on a simple bow of twine.

I added a braided handle of twine to the bag, through two holes punched into the sides approximately 0.5" from the edge.

To complement the bag, I created a gate fold card to match.  To be honest, it's so simple to create a gate fold card using a Scor-pal because the scoring marks are noted on the board.  Start with a 8.5" x 11" piece of kraft cardstock.  Score at 2.25" and 7.75".  I used the same beautiful Autumn Melody Stack papers - and trimmed one of the images to use as my focal point of the card.  I inked the edges a bit for added dimension.

And then... I actually finished the inside of a card.  I think if you have the elegance of the gate fold for your card style, you need a "ta-da" finish for the inside.  I used a couple of the die cut leaves, not just because I had them on hand (which I did), but also because they are beautiful.

CPS Farewell Post

Hello. It's certainly with a great deal of saddness that I write a closing post for CPS today. I was so excited to get the call from Tami at the end of 2009 that I was selected to be a part of the CPS Team. CPS was there for me at the right time... filling my life with creativity, fabulous women and friends... I'll forever be grateful.
Thank you to Tami for your time, effort and work for CPS. Thank you to the sponsors. And thank you to the wonderful ladies that have become my friends.
For my swan song, I've picked CPS Sketch # 170... a favorite of mine, to use today.

So, while I'll be saying good-bye to CPS, perhaps we should all just agree to say, "Until we meet again." Or "Call me, maybe?"
Be sure to drop me a note of 'Ello any time!

CPS Sketch # 285 - My Favorite Things

Hello!  It's our last week with My Favorite Things as our sponsor.  It's been a blast!

Adore You

Somthing cute was in order... and nothing says cute quite like the Pure Innocence line at MFT!  I have used a square die to cut holes in the square front of my patterned paper and put my stamped image (and coordinating papers) behind.

Thanks for visiting,
lise
