More Holiday Cards

So, I thought I'd share a couple of my other holiday cards today.  Hopefully, you aren't sick of all things Christmas yet.

I don't always like mass producing cards.  My limit is usually around 10 or 12 cards per design.  Since I send so many, I started making more than one design.  Not only does it help me break up the monotony of multiples, I can use more of my holiday images and papers.

Both of the card designs below are from Julie Ebersole's collection with Ellen Hutson.  I love her images and always look forward to the releases.

Tis the Season

I cut a window in the front of my card panel and had my speeding car driving through.  Because I colored with Copic markers, it's not a true one layer card.  I didn't want the color to seep through to the back of the finished project.  I added some shimmer with the Wink of Stella Clear pen, covered with Glossy Accents and added in a bit of snow for our winter travelers.  I also added the Stitched Flourish behind the car, but it's only visible when the project is open.  This is a simple and flat card, perfect for mailing.

I colored this very simply with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.  I really loved the simplicity of the Mondo Poinsettia image.

Thanks for stopping by!

What have you been up to lately?

I just posted a holiday card yesterday, but I thought I'd catch up with any of my readers on what I've been doing lately... and would love to hear about you!

I took a break from stamping and creating.  Oh, I was creating, but only for loved ones.  It wasn't a bad thing to take a break.  I returned to reading blogs and digging around again in the crafting community and found that a great deal had changed in that time.  Companies that were producing stamps at a frantic pace were no longer around, new companies emerged and social media changed how projects were being shared.  Watercoloring is en vogue.  Crafters are sharing videos for everything they create.  We're a fickle lot... I know I'm easily influenced by trends.  I've foiled most of the house since I bought my Minc.  And LOVE it!

Beyond this, it's been the usual busy lifestyle.  My children are teens (one bound for college soon - eek!).  I have traveled a bit for work and have visited some interesting places.

London

Piccadilly

Istanbul - Blue Mosque

Istanbul - Hagia Sophia

Istanbul - Suleymaniye Mosque

Madrid - Cathedral and Palace from Templo de Debod outlook

Madrid - Palacio Real de Madrid

Other than that, I've been lucky to have good health and a happy family.  What more could I ask for?

I'd love to hear what has been keeping you busy.

Thanks,
Lisa

I'll leave you with one of my Christmas cards this year.  I've been enjoying all things watercolor lately and had a great time creating with this lovely Penny Black image called Brush Pines.

I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors directly to my stamp.  I lightly misted the stamp with water and pressed onto Strathmore watercolor paper.  This technique worked well for mass-production, because I could re-spray with water and get a second impression.  I was also able to go to the paper with some additional watercolors or water to blend again.  I heat embossed the sentiment with clear powder after stamping with Versafine Onxy Black ink.

Thanks and I'll see you again soon!
