Je t'aime

I took 8 years of French (High School and College). My conversational French is not so good... I think it's not taught well in school, personally. I've been to Paris (Oct 2006) and loved every minute of it. I also learned more in how to speak French that one week than in a whole semester of lessons. Total immersion makes a big difference!

Most people know what Je t'aime means... I love you. I thought it was a perfect focal point for this project.

The frame was covered in Basic Grey designer paper, Periphery, with the edges distressed with vanilla acrylic paint. The Prima matches much more closely than this picture depicts. The stamped portion of this project is from Flourishes stamp set, Open to Love. It was such a simple project... but the emphasis remains with the words - I love you.

It's as simple as that. What more could you want?

Thanks for stopping by,

lisa

  1. Lovely shabby chic card, Lisa. That Basic Grey paper practically makes its own card, doesn't it?
    Happy New Year to you.

  2. Love your frame Lisa. It came out awesome. I have had altering a frame on my list for awhile. Perhaps I will do it soon. :) I agree with you about not learning French well in HS and College.

  4. Some beautiful projects here since I last dropped by Lisa! I love the shabby chic look of this one and the focus on the words. The alternating petals on the kitchen sink one look fab and I love the way you've used the overlay on the lacy heart - gorgeous!

  7. Hi - Just found your blog today -- love it! I really like this frame and have a question... Did you cut the paper before or after you adhered it onto the frame? Does that even make sense how I phrased it? I've heard of using a spray adhesive, then an exacto knife to trim away the excess paper. Any suggestions??
    Thanks!
