Celebrate

Hello!  I have another Shady Tree Studio project to share with you today.

Celebrate

I love the Just Believe stamp set for holiday cards.  It's been one of my go-to sets each year since Nancy designed it.  The Homespun Holiday set is the perfect companion to Just Believe.
I stamped the vine to create a frame for my snowman on kraft cardstock.  I used Distress inks and Snow Cap pigment inks to watercolor the image.  To give the eyes, buttons and the berries of the vines some texture, I added a bit of liquid pearl pens (Viva Decor).  Super simple!

Thanks for visiting,
Lisa

Shady Tree Studio Christmas In July Release

Hello everyone!  Well... I'm late to the party, the blog hop the team had today.  I just couldn't get Blogger to work for me.  Sheesh!  Nancy was so sweet to share my project on here blog, which you can see on her blog.  But, I finally have my Blogger powers back and thought I'd share my project with you here.

Heaven and Nature Sing

I often think that clean and simple isn't my style, but I often gravitate to it.  Isn't that ironic?  I stamped the sweet little bear from Naturally Christmas and colored with copic markers.  She was popped up on the cardfront over a border created from the Homespun Holiday set.  I even added the little holly leaves to give her a festive vibe.

Thanks for stopping by and sorry I was late!

Little Lamb

Hello!  I have another Shady Tree Studio project to share with you.  We've started with sneak peaks on the newest Shady Tree Studio sets to be released at the end of the month.  While the sets are definitely Christmas sets, there's so much potential to be used for more than holiday cards.

Little Lamb

It seems like I'm always in need of a baby card.  Ladies at work, family members and friends are all expecting lately.  I stamped the darling lamb and colored with copic markers.  To give my card a patchwork feel, I die cut three colored squares and added a bit of paper piercing for texture.

Thanks for visiting and I'll have a holiday card for you next week!

Silver Bells

Hello!  I have another Christmas in July project to share with you from Shady Tree Studio.

Silver Bells

I love to use paint in my stamped projects.  I stamped and embossed the bell from Winter Day stamp set.  I stamped it a second time to paper piece the bow on top.  Then, to color in the bell, I used some silver paint and lightly painted in the image.  Before the paint dried, I gently wiped the image with a paper towel to remove the paint from the embossed lines.  It's just perfect to give this bell life!  See all that shimmer?

Vintage Skates

Hello!  Happy Friday!  I have a project to share with you to celebrate Christmas in July with Shady Tree Studio!

Vintage Skates

I had a lot of fun creating this project.  I stamped the skates image on Natural White cardstock and carefully colored with Copic markers.  Then, to give it an aged look, I used a sanding block and gently rubbed over the whole image.  Distress inks were then swiped over the image to age the image to match the patterned paper.  Super easy!

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Easter!

Hello!  I have a new Shady Tree Studio project to share with you today.  I'm designing again with the Backyard Springtime set... and was really inspired by my design team colleagues' use of this sweet, sweet bunny!

Happy Easter

I just had a ball with this card.  It's fun to color these sweet bunnies and give them each personality.  I added a bit of Polar White Flower Soft to their bunny tails and some pearl pen drops to frame them in shine!

I hope you have a blessed and wonderful Easter!

Thanks for visiting and letting me share!

Curio Flowers

Hello!  I have another Shady Tree Studios card to share with you again today.  I'm designing again with the Backyard Springtime set... this time with a different feel to the project fun.

Curio Flowers

This project was completely inspired by an older paper pack I had on hand.  In fact, when I saw the large flowers in Nancy's set, I instantly thought of what a great fit it would be with the Curio Basic Grey paper!

My Curio Flowers were colored with Copics to match the patterned paper.  I also used a marker spritz (something I had from years ago from Stampin' Up - sorry, I don't know if they still sell this item or not) to add a bit of distress to match the Curio paper.  I stamped an extra set of the flowers to pop up on the main panel for extra dimension too.  You can see that dimension in this picture.

Are you ever inspired by beautiful papers and images?

Thanks for visiting and letting me share!

Spring Duckies

Hello!  I have a new Shady Tree Studio card to share with you today.  This week's project uses the Backyard Springtime set.

Spring Duckies

I'm officially addicted to Jillibean Soup's new Blossom Soup patterned paper.  I am flying through the pad of paper at alarming speed!  And for me, that's saying a lot, since I'm a self-described hoarder of all things pretty.  I'm turning a new leaf this year and enjoying what I buy, so the Blossom Soup is getting a lot of use!

I paper-pieced part of my stamped and embossed image so tie the image to my patterned paper cardfront.  I would seriously love a pair of polka dotted red rain boots, wouldn't you?  They are too cute for words!!

Here you can see the detail of the main image and my paper-piecing.

Some twine and rolled roses round out my Spring card.

Thanks for letting me ramble at you today!  I hope you're having a wonderful, warm Spring day wherever you are.

Happy Easter Greetings

Hello!  I have another project using Eastertide, released earlier this month by Shady Tree Studio.

Happy Easter

This is a very simple card and one that would be perfect for mass production.  I used a small floral image from the set to repeatedly stamp to create my own patterned paper.  Isn't it wonderful?  The benefit of creating your own patterned paper is that it will be in just the right color to match your project... every time.

I finished the project with a simply stamped sentiment, ribbon and some roses.  Very simple and hopefully elegant.

Thanks for visiting and letting me share today!

Beauty

Hello!  I have a new project using Floral Occasions by Shady Tree Studio to share with you today.  I just LOVE this set!!!

Beauty

I just love the Iris image of this set.  It reminds me of my grandma... oh, how I miss her.  My grandma used to have irises along the fence in her backyard at their house on Aintree.  I loved that house with it's huge backyard.  The rows of irises would tilt their lovely faces to the sun and dance in the wind.

I colored this iris with Copic markers and very simply mounted on matching amethyst cardstock.  I used a Provo Craft embossing folder to give my cardbase texture.

Is anyone else ready for Spring?  My hand's raised!!!

He Is Risen

Hello!  I have another project using Eastertide from Shady Tree Studio today.  I've been having a lot of fun with this set.

He Is Risen

This project uses a sentiment for the main image.  With a little bit of beautiful patterned paper and a Spellbinder's diecut, I've transformed the simple and humble words into a focal point.

Happy Spring and Happy STS Release Day!

Hello!  It's Lisa again and it's Shady Tree Studio's release day!  This project features the Floral Occasions stamp set and has me ready for Spring.

Happy Spring

I have always loved these sketchy flowers... they were an image released with Cornish Heritage Farms and making a comeback as an image in the Floral Occasions stamp set for Shady Tree Studio.  I paired my sketchy flowers with Paper Girl (The Girls' Paperie) patterned paper and colored with Copic markers to match.  I die cut a doily and fussy cut around the flowers to be the perfect embellishment.

This card just makes me happy!  The colors and sentiment have me itching for Spring weather!

Thanks for visiting... and be sure to stop by the Shady Tree Studio blog for more inspiration!

Joy

Hello!  I have a project I'd like to share with you, featuring the Eastertide stamp set, which will be releasing on Friday, March 11th.

Joy

This is a super simple card.  It's all about the contrast of the white space and the bright pink of the eggs.  I stamped the floral-filled egg on the card panel and again on a separate piece of cardstock.  I colored the eggs with Copic markers and layered onto the cardbase.  A strip of sticky tape with a bit of glitter and a border of Ice White pearl drops make a shimmery backdrop for vibrant flowers on these joyous Easter eggs.

One more day of sneak peeks and we're almost to release day!

Spring Violets

Hello!  I have a project I'd like to share with you, featuring the Floral Occasions stamp set, which will be releasing on Friday, March 11th.

Violets

I love the sketchy flowers in this set and decided that I was going to color this trio as a set of violets.  It's a bit of creative license.  I colored the flowers with Copic markers, really keeping this simple.  To complete the project, I decided to layer three different washi tapes (keeping with the rule of three) to the cardbase.  Super fast and simple!

There will be loads of posts in the next couple of days from the design team (our own blogs), as well on the Shady Tree Studio blog.  Be sure to stop by and see what everyone has going on with this release.  It's just FAB!

CPS Sketch # 200 - Flower Soft

Hello again!  It's time for another CPS project!  This week's sponsor is Flower Soft.  The newest mixed colors are just sublime and all make a star appearance in my project this week.

With Love

I started with a flower image from Elegant Valentine by Shady Tree Studio and colored with Copic markers.  I added the coordinating Flower Soft color to the center of each flower.  It adds such a great dimensional element to the project, don't you think?  Tissue and washi tapes add balance and a little interest to the side of the design... and fits the sketch.

I'd love it if you stop by the CPS Blog for more designer inspiration and information on how to participate in this week's sketch.

Thanks for visiting,
Lisa

CPS Sketch Project - No Sponsor and Any Sketch

Hello!!!  It's time for another CPS Sketch project... and this one is a true Free For All!  It's anything goes at CPS... pick your favorite sketch for the year and anything you want for the images / style!  How fun!!!!

Santa!

Oh yeah, it may be past Christmas, but don't you think you should send the Big Guy a "Thank You" card?  Or were you naughty?  LOL!!!

I used CPS Sketch # 170... one of my all-time favorite sketch this year.  Although, picking a favorite sketch was REALLY tough.  It's been an amazing year of sketches by Ms. Tami!

I stamped the Santa twice from the Just Believe set by Shady Tree Studio, one popped up on the main panel.  I punched up the main panel with a sponged background (Antique Linen Distress ink).I'd love it if you stop by and see what else is going on at the CPS blog this week!!  All good stuff, I promise!

Belli Challenge # 107

Hello again!  I'm back with another Belli Challenge project.  This is the second project for this month, as a guest designer with the Belli Challenge team. I've had a ton of fun designing with their crew!  Thanks for having me this month!

Belli Challenge #107: Merry Christmas!
Let It Snow

This wonderful snowman is from Shady Tree Studio's Just Believe stamp set.  I just love his Primitive / country style.  It fits this little guy to be stamped on kraft cardstock and painted with white pigment ink.  I added a bit of additional color with various Distress inks.  My single bit of embellishment for this card is a hand drawn holly leaves with circle punched berries.  They aren't perfect, but this snowy guy doesn't seem to mind.

Thanks again for stopping by today!  I'd love it if you stopped by the Creative Belli Blog for more inspiration and designer goodness!  It's been a joy working with the Belli Challenge team!!!

CPS Sketch # 198 - No Sponsor

Hello!  It's time for another CPS Sketch project.  December is a sponsor-free, so we're playing a bit for each sketch!

Let It Snow

This card couldn't be more simple.  It's really all about the patterned paper, the balance of colors and some festive snowflakes!  I stamped the "Let it Snow" sentiment from the Just Believe set from Shady Tree Studios on my tab edge (cut with the Tim Holtz edge die).

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the CPS blog for more designer inspiration and ideas!
